One Small Step for Music, One Giant Leap For Trombonekind

Ok, so what's cool about this album; First off, Woodland Creatures is pretty much all Luke Huddleston.
He did all the horn parts himself on trombone, just overdubbing everything with a trombone.

The recording took over a year -around 2017-2019- because it's kind of hard to play with yourself that many times, overdubbing horns and more horns to a metronome. The generous application of bourbon may have also played a role. Other contributors added bass and drums relatively quickly.

Engineer Bryan Gottshall: “He talked me into the trombone thing! I thought it was a really bad idea at first. I was like, "Man you're insane, this won't work! It's all the same frequency range, all the instruments will sound the same." But we tried it and the first track came out cool. Once we added the other instruments it all really came together. It went from being something I thought might be cool because it's such a weird idea, to something that I am really proud of.”
